Its been a while!

It has been a while and not much has happened. I have managed to get some bondo and primer on the fuel tank. A little spot puddy and some wet sanding and it will be ready for paint. Maybe next summer?

Project Status

Haven’t posted any progress in a while. Mostly because the progress is not very exciting. While it may look like not much has changed since the last few post. Here is a rundown of what I have done.

1. Front Brakes, new pads, master cylinder rebuilt, bled and working.
2. Rear Brakes, new pads, master cylinder rebuilt , bled and working.
3. Clutch, master cylinder rebuilt, bled and working.
4. Wiring harness has been re-wrapped and installed.
5. Switch housings installed.
6. New Throttle and Choke cables installed.
7. Fuel tanks has been de-rusted and sealed.

Now a list of things that need to be completed.

1. Carburetors need to be cleaned and rebuilt. (ordered parts for this last week)
2. Seat reupholstered.
3. Muffler repacked and polished.
4. Body work. This is a biggie, lots of hours. Fiberglass fairings need a lot of work, gas tanks needs a little work, and I need to buy a new tail piece. Of course this is what will make it look good or not.
5. Paint. Would like to do it myself, but it will go to someone to have paint work done.
6. Carburetors will need to be synced.
7. Finally check and recheck every nut and bolt on the thing. (I don’t want anything coming off while going really fast).
8. Ride it.

While this doesn’t seem like much, I am going to guess that it will take somewhere between 30-50 hours of work. Which is only one week right? It would be great if that was the case. Since I am lucky to work on it a few hours a week, it is going to take a while. Enjoy this pics. Hopefully it will be on the road by the end of the summer.

Rear Brakes

Haven't done much work to the Green Machine. Funds are a little low. I did scrape up enough cash to buy rear brake pads and put them on. Rear wheel is now in place and chain is adjusted.

More Sprockets

Haven't done much work on the Green Machine, but I made some more sprockets for a friend. Amazing how many friends you have when they know you have a CNC Milling machine in you garage. I guess I did not really make the sprockets but I did make them look a little less plain.

Start with 3 plain sprockets, stack them together and clamp to the table!

Write a program and watch the machine cut.

A couple of hours later, unclamp, clean up table and you now have 3 fancy sprockets.

Calipers back from Powder Coat

Got them done in Gold, just like when they were new. HP Powder Coating does a good job.
